Panic Settings!!!

I am experiencing the fascination of B-School Placements season... Speculations:) ear-to-ear murmuring , silent preparations, less of gyaan spread(just in case he beats me with my ammo!!!) and so on..
- Whilst I see talks abt learning&development, maturity & knowledge enrichment- all the big words being shot when asked ; why MBA?. The road ends at the Big P-Placements . I have been part of the wicked Placecom for over an yr now.... my observation speaks that the ultimate goal of B-school entries lead to these coveted Placements.. (so much so that i can take a stand on this in any GD).
-So what's about it ...?so much hype? what moolah r v talkin abt ?- rn't we supposed 2 be knowledge workers whu wud anywyzzz get paid for the skills v hav developed..Y cant we have a fair system as in the west abt havin Open Placements season thru out the yr.Makes life much easier , doesn't it.Y does the whole batch need to apply for a single company . The company may as well pik interested guyz than takin in wholesale , jus to later find these people escape the company payroll in no time ... I guess its the role of the Institution & the people at the helm to get a strong communication goin with the Coporate entities. This wil surely pay-off as the company atleast knows ur givin them the guyz they need!! where's the blame-game?.
- Last cumin to my pals .. v all tend to hav a very myopic view of what's in store for us after v pass out.. Conclusion:There's way 2 much!! Keep ur senses open..v aint know whr v will head in 5 yrs ... My Mantra wud be livin 2day as merrily as possible.. At the end of the day .the job&career is just part of ur life &not ur LIFE...

Is this Journalism!!!

The Time: 9 PM . Dinner is on!!! 20 mins into the News Channel( 1 of the best we have in India mind u!!!)...and what do we c??? a simple personal agenda has been converted into a "Top Story of the day"...with a generous amount of adjectives like "Shockin", "Breaking-News" added to it .

Our Reporter for the day along with his half-inert colleague has brought this issue to a debate finale with joined by celebrities ... Its so shocking to notice that rather than understanding the nuances of News reporting, these guys create sumthin like a War-Of-words,instigating the guests to react agressively... on National Television.... ( How can u ask ur guests to react to each other's comments and unanimously pass a decision urself!!!!) ..



To Top it all , the 2 parts of Masala ate away easily abt 25 mins of Airtime ... India 2day has so many better things to be covered that needs public attention. yet we turn a blind eye to many a grievances of the people in far flung areas.Only celebrities, Politicians and Sports stars hog the limelight .. The media should ensure proper balance in reportin...(Have u ever seen India's North-east covered with as much zeal &hype as a Cricket controversy)...I have seen parents encouraging their wards to watch NEWS &learn ...This is not they should be learnin anyday...

Its time the Journalist fraternity stood up and introspected about what Responsible &True Journalism really means ...

I might not know ABC of journalism ..but i can surely vouch for the fact that this kind of reporting is helping no one ..

Multi-Faceted Moi!!!!!

an Irony of an Indian MBA!!!!! I am sure thr r parties who will and wont agree 2. Its been 9 months i have been experiencing "MBA" like nvr before.. at 1st I thot I had be a Accountant (Tons of Acc rivers &its tributaries flowing in the 1st Sem )..Alas!! All breached its banks.Thats a different story ...
Then a felt like a complete Corporate ready lawyer ... All the acts so clear that i could charge any passerby with breach of literally anythin under the Indian Legal Umbrella ...
They say u hav to be clear till the end of ur 1st yr what u wanted to do ... ( On the contrary they hav given me more options rather than narrowing this nvr ending Profession list ..). As if this was easy.Taxation, Research methods, Operations Research (they could clog ur mind &let ur arteries free!!!).
Silver Linings sure do exist- MacroEconomics - The Baap of all subjects &my own baby-Marketing ..
Now here's my query.Agreed as generalists we all need to be knowin in&out of Businesses we aspire to be with... But how much of the conceptual knowledge needs to be tested... I mean thr must a dividin' line between Have-to-Know &Good-to-know .. Testin the former seems sensible..This could be debated I am sure!!!

hrd that gals drool over this fella ... he has done everythin from Rock Climbin to Bunjee Jumpin to White water rafting..... here he fights the Pachyderm!!! swooshes the sword with Ash ..Ya , Hrithik gets back to ways he knows best .. He gets into Akbar's character and comes out a winner.. Jodhaa Akbar - the epic by Ashutosh is not short of Grandiose &Mughal-like enigma .. Ashu brings the best out of his characters .. The fight scenes look True(Finally!!!!!!) ..Music &lyrics with Javed saab &AR cudnt go wrong ... Njoyed it thoroughly.wil watch again. and then wait for the DVD..(Much like any Hrithik fan wud!!!)

Chaa gaye Dil Par!!!!!

the eyes were allowed to feast on a treat after quite a long time . Yes, I am talkin'' about TZP. Aamir and Darshan sizzle in their roles. The simplicty of the roles, the focus on the protagonist , and soul stirring acting &the music were a total stand-out .
Not a moment boring, not a second when the crowd thought it was enough, the added pleasure of the multiplex viewing , + sum coffee to end it made it a gr8 day ..

Well!!!! one can also expect near perfect work from Aamir!!!
(special mention-The eateries at these multiplex should be looked at when calculating Inflation!!!)..

What do fests do?

Fests- The word rings in thoughts of a period of high drama, more fun, lot of work sans Academics & short escapes for some enlightened souls.
It was a pot luck of all this I have seen over the past 4 days of our Annual college fest .. Behind the scenes were the constant tussles for individual supremacy, personal interests& the evergrowing desire to be a personal star..
Time&Again we have stated the "Its' a Team", applauded the Bollywood King for his Teamwork enhancing efforts with a bunch of mottly girls, but at the end of the day, the learning is just not there. This attitude is what needs a drastic change if we foresee success at the end of the yr..
Anyways, what happened has left many happy, but a lot sad.

4 more days to go . Wait to see if the saga continues , or there comes a positive breakthrough.

Mammal Intro

A sci stud by background , jus cudn't help naming my Blog what I did!! This is my first tryst with bloggin'. Just for once I knew that this will help me reach out to other ppl and the virtual world . So Y do ppl blog? Hmmm... u can debate !!! and go on and on..

Yours truly is again one of those stuck between career woes and what he really chooses to be . He aspires to be one thing, chooses to be another and ends up treading his foot into the most dangerous thing thinkin mammals cud ever do- take up an MBA and consider himself an elite animal.

Marketing doesn't run in the blood , but years from now will ooze out of the vein(runnin into troubled waters again..). Strategies make more sense except those already existin..... well to be concisely true , the last 8 months of this holy corporate entry key has been a criminal wastage of time(with all due regards to my negligence !!!I take the blame ..). The nex 8 months don look any rosier. Letz c how those new yr resolutions work out ...
